As reported by the online site of CNN In Brazil, Kerollen Cunha Ferreira and Nancy Gonçalves Cunha Ferreira published a controversial video in 2023 and this led them to have serious problems with the law. In the clip, content creators are seen delivering stuffed monkeys and bananas to Afro -descendant children of 9 and 10 years. After participating in a challenge, the little ones had the option to choose a cash prize or a “mysterious gift.”
The video unleashed a whole controversy, since its actions were taken as a cynical act of racism, taking advantage of the vulnerability of the little ones to humiliate them in order to create content for their social networks.
“By ridiculing the illusion of children, giving them bananas or a stuffed monkey, treating them like animals, they laughed at their blind options, which were not really an election,” said the judge in charge of the case Simone de Faria Ferrazof the First Criminal Court of San Gonzalo, Río de Janeiro.

During the delivery of the sentence, the judge told the influencers his discomfort for having tried to transform the pain of children into a cruel strategy to monetize their content. In addition to the 12 years of prison that were imposed as a conviction, the two women will also have to pay around $ 3,600 (20,000 reais) as compensation to each of the victims.
